New

A new web site has been created by the North West Transport Activists Roundtable (NW TAR) whose purpose is to promote sustainable transport and sustainable land use to regional agencies and local authorities.

The RA Manchester and High Peak Area is a member of the NW TAR and is represented by Janet Cuff. To have a look at their web site, which includes an article by Janet, follow the link from our Links page.

Welcome

We are part of the Ramblers' Association, a nationwide organisation which seeks to protect the finest landscapes, the natural beauty of the countryside and the National Parks.

The area and its local groups offer varied programmes of weekly walks, taking advantage of the excellent walking country near Greater Manchester.

If you live in or around Greater Manchester, enjoy walking, whether it be gentle or strenuous, there is sure to be something for you. Have a look at our Next Walks to get an idea of the range of walks we offer.

If you wish to join the RA, please contact the RA directly or through our Membership Secretary.
